Needed: A part time production assistant to work remotely. If you are a potter looking to make some extra cash this summer, this is the job for you.

Duration: Summer 2021, Around May to september with flexible start and end dates, depending on need. Work may continue beyond these dates but this will be determined later on.

Description: I am looking for Someone well versed in hand building (slab work, coil building, extruding) and wheel throwing to produce my work for the shop and for wholesale orders.

They should have a precise hand, A careful eye for detail and should have good communication skills and be professional and punctual.

Assistant should have access to equipment and workspace as all production work will take place remotely. A kiln is not required but would be a plus.

If needed, assistant might be asked to do some work in my studio from time to time, if they are comfortable. This might include: loading/unloading the kiln, sanding pieces, mixing glazes, glazing pieces, and other studio duties. Most of these tasks can take place outdoors if concerned about covid safety.

Assistant should be Michigan based and live within a reasonable driving distance of Lansing, MI. I am willing to meet you halfway if you live 60-90 miles from Lansing.

Pay: Pay for remote work will be a set price per piece made. This price will vary from piece to piece and will be determined on how many can be made in an hour at an hourly wage of $20/hr. If performing any in studio work, Pay will be $20/hour.
